Aizawl (Mizoram) [India], September 13 (ANI): The Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Air Command SP Dharkar on Tuesday called on Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga at his office chamber in Aizawl.
At this meeting, besides discussing security matters in Mizoram and in the northeast India region, talks were held about setting up a new Airport with Heliport that could be utilized for civil aviation as well as Air Force purposes in Mizoram.
Chief Minister Zoramthanga said, "We have already identified two locations for this new infrastructure in the southern part of Mizoram."
Air Marshal SP Dharkar, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Air Command, Indian Air Force (IAF) paid a courtesy call to Mizoram Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati at the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday evening.
In this courtesy meeting, the visiting Chief of Air Force, Eastern Command apprised the Governor about his visit to the state.
He also discussed with him the activities of the Indian Air Force within the area.
The AOC-in-C was accompanied by Brig Girish Upadhyay, DIG, 23 Sector Assam Rifles, Aizawl. (ANI)
