Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], August 26 (ANI): Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya on Monday sought public suggestions to improve metro travel in the city, aiming to make it smoother and more accessible for all.
"I'm committed to making metro travel in Bengaluru smoother and more accessible for everyone. To do this, I need your help! We know that easy and comfortable access to metro stations is crucial for more residents to embrace this fantastic mode of transport," Surya posted on X.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP stated that he would present the feedback to the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).
"We want to hear from you about where 'Additional Feeder Buses' are needed or how current services can be improved. Leave your thoughts as replies to this post, or email me at contact@tejasvisurya.in. I'll be taking your feedback to BMTC and BMRCL to push for the improvements you need. Together, let's make commuting easier and more enjoyable for all!" he added in the post.
Last Wednesday, he highlighted the traffic woes in Bengaluru, stating, "We are spending more time in mind-numbing traffic than with our family and loved ones."
He also urged Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who is also Bengaluru's Incharge Minister, to convene an urgent meeting with elected representatives and traffic management experts to address the issue.
According to the South Bengaluru MP, "The traffic situation in Bengaluru is worsening with each passing day. Even Sundays, which used to be relatively easier, are becoming as nightmarish as weekdays."
In a series of tweets on X, the BJP MP said, "Every day, we are adding thousands of new private vehicles to the roads, only exacerbating the problem. Even running errands at neighbourhood stores takes an inordinate amount of time. The city roads, including small lanes in residential areas, are beyond their carrying capacity, and there is no space to build more roads. Moreover, more roads would simply mean more private vehicles."
"Clearly, we are not doing enough to reduce the number of private vehicles on the road and increase public transport options. BMTC buses are overcrowded. The metro, during peak hours, is so packed that it feels suffocating. Uber and Ola taxis are expensive, unreliable, and take forever to arrive. Autorickshaws often cancel rides. Our footpaths are not pedestrian-friendly and are frequently encroached upon by hawkers. The condition of roads across the city is pathetic, with potholes and unscientific speed bumps. BBMP and its officials turn a blind eye to the commercial developments in residential areas, further adding to traffic density. In short, the quality of life is deteriorating every day," he said.
