Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], October 8 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday shot back at BJP, underlining that all exams including the Public Service Commission exam were being conducted since the Congress government returned to power in the state.

CM Baghel accused the previous Raman Singh-led BJP government of not investigating any alleged irregularities in the exams held during their rule.

"...The BJP is continuously talking about PSC...There is no role of (Chhattisgarh) government (in it)... Under the BJP's rule, in all the PSC exams that were conducted during that time, all youths are winning cases against it. Verdicts came against it in the High Court, but Raman Singh did not investigate it," he alleged.

"Since we came into power, PSC, Vyapam, all exams are happening. They only want to do politics," CM added.

This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress government in Chhattisgarh of being steeped in corruption and misrule, saying there is a scam in every scheme of the state and that it did not spare even cow dung.

"Imagine the mentality of a person who practices corruption in cow dung," the Prime Minister questioned speaking at a public event in Raigarh earlier in the month.

In response, Deputy CM TS Singh Deo had said that the Prime Minister should probe the alleged 'scams' and shouldn't make such accusations if he lacks information.

Chattisgarh will go to polls at the end of this year.

The BJP aims to wrest power from the Congress-ruled state which is expected to set the tone for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls. (ANI)
