New Delhi, Oct 10 (PTI) Delhi schools have been asked to sprinkle water in open areas of their premises to control dust and refrain from bursting crackers, as part of a detailed plan to stem winter pollution.
The Directorate of Education, which issued the directions, has asked all government and private schools in the city to implement the Winter Action Plan 2024 and submit a monthly action taken report.
The 18-point plan includes implementation of Graded Response of Action Plan on Air Pollution Control, or GRAP.
The instruction were made in a circular issued on October 7 by the DoE, which also asked all school heads to undertake awareness activities on pollution control for students.
Schools have been asked to organise an anti-fire campaign, anti-pollution campaign, e-waste management and wetland restoration.
