Farrukhabad (UP), Jul 13 (PTI) Two boys drowned on Saturday after slipping in a pond in the village here, police said.

The police identified the victims as Ishu (8) and his cousin Ashish (7), they said.

Station House Officer (SHO) of Mohammadabad police station Bholendra Chaturvedi said Ishu had come to his maternal grandfather Mansharam's house with his mother and sister in Bauripur Jahanganj.

"Ishu had gone to a pond in the village with his cousin Ashish (7), where the duo drowned," said the SHO.

According to police, the duo drowned after they slipped into the pond.

Police recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway, SHO added.
