Many tried to shield themselves using scarves, towels, and pieces of cloth, covering their faces in a desperate attempt to avoid stings. Anil Mishra, who was present at the scene, said the bees appeared suddenly and began attacking in large numbers, giving people little time to react.
Several individuals suffered bee stings and were rushed to the Naurozabad regional hospital. Doctors confirmed that patients complained of swelling and pain, but all were treated with primary care and later discharged.
