Bengaluru: Man Kills Wife With Beer Bottle After Dispute, Dies by Suicide
A 38-year-old autorickshaw driver allegedly killed his 35-year-old wife with a broken beer bottle before dying by suicide at their residence in eastern Bengaluru's Vibhutipura late Tuesday night. Police officials stated that the murder-suicide occurred following a violent argument over the woman allegedly spending excessive time on her mobile phone.

The incident reportedly took place late Tuesday night at the couple's residence under the jurisdiction of HAL police station. Police were informed about the deaths early Wednesday morning and found both the woman and her husband inside the house. According to preliminary findings, the man allegedly attacked his wife during an argument. Reports said he used a beer bottle during the assault and the woman later died from her injuries.
Police identified the deceased as Shruthi, 30, and her husband as Raghavendra, 38. Investigators said the couple had reportedly been married for 17 years and had two children, who were staying with their maternal grandparents in Davanagere at the time of the incident. Preliminary inquiries indicated that the couple frequently argued, with police also examining allegations that Raghavendra objected to Shruthi spending time talking on her mobile phone.
Raghavendra's parents reportedly lived on the first floor of the same building, while the couple lived on the ground floor. HAL police are questioning family members and relatives to establish the sequence of events and the circumstances that led to the deaths. Police said further investigation is underway, and more details are expected after the completion of the inquiry.
