The attack, which occurred in the presence of an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), involved heavy gunfire, with seven rounds discharged. The driver of the vehicle was shot, and two people sustained serious injuries. According to reports, two individuals were admitted to Manipal Hospitals Broadway in Kolkata around 11:30 a.m. with bullet injuries to the head. The hospital has confirmed that the victims are under close observation in the ICU as doctors assess their conditions. In a statement, BJP leader Arjun Singh said that the attack might be part of a broader strategy by the Trinamool Congress (TMC), who are allegedly resorting to such violent measures due to a lack of other issues to address.
