Simone Biles, US Star Gymnast, Named Times Athlete of the Year 2021
Biles made the news during the Tokyo Olympics 2020 when she chose to withdraw from the competition owing to mental health problems. She opted out of four individual finals at the Olympics but managed to win bronze while competing in a team event.
Star US gymnast Simone Biles was named Times' Magazine's Athlete of the Year 2021. She was recognised for her opening up about mental health problems during the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
