Match Abandoned As Umpires Decide to Call-Off SRH vs DC IPL 2025 Clash Due to Wet Outfield, Sunrisers Hyderabad Get Eliminated From Play-Off Race

Not to be. An unfortunate ending ending to the match as Umpires announce the game abandoned due to the wet outfield. The task in hand was always going to be tough with the time pressure and Umpires have acknowledged it. Both the teams share points and with it Sunrisers Hyderabad are now out of the IPL 2025 play-off race. Delhi Capitals survive. 

The precipitation chances for the next hour is only 17%. It is not much but enough to end any hopes of having a match at all. The wind gusts are going to be 22 km/hr which is hopeful that they will take the cloud cover away. Meanwhile, groundstaff are trying their best to prepare the conditions for some action. 

The covers at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium cover much of the ground but the outfield is still wet and there is lot of waters on the boundary edge. Some of the covers from near the boundary line are coming off which is hopeful signs for the fans. Still about fifty minutes to go till the cut off time. It will be touch and go. 

The news from the ground is there are water puddles on the ground and the umpires are out for inspection. The general estimation is the time needed for the super soppers and the groundsmen is approximately an hour before restart is possible. That too if it doesn't rain anymore. It would definitely be a curtailed game of five to seven overs. 

Good news for the fans as the rain has stopped and the super soppers are out. The condition of the ground has taken some beating as there is puddles on the outfield. The news from the center is it will about an hour to make the ground ready. So it could be a seven to ten over game if everything goes right. 

Things are not looking good at Hyderabad. It is still raining and there is no signs of it slowing down soon. There are already puddles in the outfield. Sunrisers Hyderabad will want the weather to clear out because a washout here means end of their roads. The crowd is also waiting passionately.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will be happy with their efforts with the ball, specially from captain Pat Cummins. They will back their batters to chase the total down. 

Out! Ashutosh Sharma departs after a solid fight. Eshan Malinga bowls a slower bouncer, Ashutosh goes for the slap over mid-wicket, doesn't get the timing right and the deep mid-wicket fielder settles to take a very good catch. Ashutosh Sharma scalped a few runs by hitting Zeeshan Ansari for two sixes in one over. He showed intent and tried to put some pressure on the bowling team. Tristan Stubbs has held on to one end and the duo has consolidated enough to launch now. 

Out! Trouble continues for Delhi Capitals. Tristan Stubbs and Vipraj Nigam were building a partnership, they have a horrible mix up during running and in the end Vipraj Nigam sacrifices his wicket to save Stubbs.
