Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Oct 12 (ANI): Lucknow bench of Allahabad high court on Friday awarded death sentence to a convict for raping and murdering a 12-year-old in Lucknow's Mohanlalganj area. Another convict has also been sentenced to life imprisonment in the case.

The 12-year-old-girl was raped and killed on September 4th , 2012.

High Court in its today's verdict had upheld the session court decision which had pronounced the death sentence for convict Putai and life imprisonment for convict Dilip.

A bench of Justice Rituraj Awasthi and Mahendra Dayal pronounced the verdict on Friday. (ANI)
