Amaravati, Nov 8 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh logged 2,237 new coronavirus cases, taking the total infection count to 8,42,967, the state government said on Sunday.

Twelve more people succumbed to the virus as the toll mounted to 6,791, a bulletin said.

The state currently has 21,403 active cases after 2,256 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours ended at 9 AM on Sunday. So far 86,63,975 samples have been tested. Of the fresh cases, West Godavari district topped the chart with 379 infections followed by Guntur 364 and Chittoor 329.

Three people died in Krishna, two each in Chittoor and Visakhapatnam and one each in East Godavari, Guntur, Nellore, Srikakulam and West Godavari districts due to the virus, the bulletin said.
