New Delhi [India], October 13 (ANI): A team of Inter-State Cell, Crime Branch busted an illegal 'Casino', which was being run at a farmhouse at Dera Village of south Delhi, police said.

According to the police, 47 persons, including 5 organisers, were found to be involved in illegal gambling activities. Cash worth Rs 8.06 lakhs, casino table, casino tokens, illegal liquor, flavoured hookah and a music system were seized at the spot.

Police said they received input that an illegal casino was being operated from a farmhouse near Chhatarpur, Delhi. Information was developed further through human resources as well as technical analysis.

A raid was conducted at the farmhouse in Dera Village, near Chhatarpur. Inside the premises, the raiding team found 4 casino tables being used and the players gathering around them.

During the raid, the players fled leaving their cash, playing cards and tokens on the tables.

On further search, 4 cartons of beer and 7 bottles of whisky were also recovered.

Rs 5 lakh in cash was seized from a Mithun Taneja and Rs 2.5 lakhs were recovered from another person, police said, adding that the money was being used for betting. (ANI)
