India News | National-level Academic Conference on Obstetrics, Gynaecology Organized at Army Hospital in Delhi Cantt

New Delhi [India], September 23 (ANI): A national-level Obstetrics and Gynaecology academic conference and hands-on training workshop is being organised by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Army Hospital (R&R) Delhi Cantt from September 22-24.  

The three-day event was inaugurated by Lieutenant General Daljit Singh, Director General, Armed Forces Medical Services. The event is being organised to discuss recent advances in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The discussions will span over all super-specialities under the Obstetrics and Gynaecology umbrella like Minimally Invasive Surgery, Onco-gynaecology, Fetal Medicine and Assisted Reproductive Techniques.

To fulfil its responsibility as one of the premier healthcare institutions in the country, the department discussed the treatment guidelines and the way ahead in grey areas for the best healthcare for women in India.

Faculty from Armed Forces medical institutes and civil institutes of repute from across the country are participating in the academic extravaganza.

The Armed Forces Medical Services have taken the lead in educating women regarding the use of Menstrual cups instead of sanitary pads. Menstrual Cups are economically the better option, easy to use, and environment-friendly modality to maintain menstrual hygiene.

Problem areas in uro-gynaecology and recent advances in high-risk pregnancy management are scheduled to be debated in the meeting.

The organisers plan to come up with treatment guidelines for practitioners in the field. For the younger specialists, quiz, paper and poster competitions are being organised as a part of the event. (ANI)
