Palwal (Haryana), Oct 5 (PTI) A man died after being shot while his sister-in-law and nephew were critically injured in a clash between two parties in a village here due to rivalry over the panchayat elections, police said on Thursday.
The two injured in the incident that took place in Allika village on Wednesday night are being treated at a private hospital in Faridabad, they said.

An FIR has been registered against 20 accused, police said, adding some suspects have been taken into custody for questioning.
Amit, a resident of Allika village, filed a complaint in which he said his sister-in-law Pinky and Hemraj's wife Nisha had contested the election of sarpanch in the village, police said.
They came to know later that Nisha, who won the election, had submitted a fake educational qualification certificate for the election, they added.
Police said that Utkarsh, the son of Amit's uncle, filed an RTI against the sarpanch to DC office and the CM window.
Nisha, who was called to the DC office on September 27 to answer the RTI, reached there along with her husband Hemraj and two others, Hitesh and Vishal, police said and added that Utkarsh was also there at that time.
The accused threatened Utkarsh in the parking lot of the DC office that either he should withdraw the RTI or he and his family would have to face consequences, said Amit.
“It was late on Wednesday night that the accused Sarpanch Nisha, her husband Hemraj, Suraj, Yashpal Fauji, Sandeep, Vishal, Jai, Pradeep, Hitesh, Krishna, Mohit, Mahendra, former Sarpanch Krishna, Nikhil, Saurabh, Manish, Saurabh alias Leele, Nepal and Satish reached my uncle Deshraj's house in a Scorpio car and two bikes and started abusing them," said Amit.
"Hearing the noise, I also came out along with my brother Aman, uncle Sumer, aunt Gulbiri and the other family members. On seeing us, the sarpanch's husband Hemraj and Yashpal Fauji said that none of them should be spared today and started firing indiscriminately with illegal weapons,” he added.
The complainant said they ran inside the house but he was hit by two bullets in his leg and several bullets hit his aunt Gulbiri following which they fell there.
"The accused have carried out this incident as part of a conspiracy because former Sarpanch Mahender and his men had murdered his father Bharatlal in 2016 and then they had murdered Digambar from their side. Both cases were registered and the accused have been arrested and sent to jail and some of them are still in jail till today,” Amit added in his complaint.
Meanwhile, the accused shot Amit's uncle Sumer in his stomach due to which he fell on the ground. After this, the accused fled from there firing bullets in the air and waving their weapons, said police.
"Amit and his aunt Gulbiri are undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Faridabad, while Sumer was declared dead during treatment," they added.
Palwal DSP Sakir Hussain said a murder case has been registered based on the complaint against all the 20 accused at Gadpuri police station.
“The body of Sumer Singh was handed over to the family after postmortem today. We have detained several suspects who are being interrogated. All the accused will be arrested soon,” Hussain added.
