Jaipur, Jul 25 (PTI) The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation buses stayed off road today as the roadways employees went on a two-day strike from today to press for the implementation of the seventh pay commission and other demands.

Most of 4,780 buses from the 52 depots in the state remained off road on the first day of the strike today, an RSRTC official said.

“We are demanding implementation of seventh pay commission and release of three pending DAs, among others. It is a two-day strike which will incur a loss of revenue of nearly ten crores in the two days,” he said.

Transport Minister Yoonus Khan requested the employees to call off the strike, saying the government is considering their demands positively.

“The government is positive on their demands and we have requested the striking employees to return to work,” Khan told reporters in Jhalawar.
