Pune, Jun 29 (PTI) Thirty-seven new national records in swimming were set in the 35th Sub Junior National Aquatic and the 45th Junior National Aquatic Championships which concluded here today.
Swadesh Mondal and Srihari Nataraj successfully defended their Best swimmer titles.
Swadesh not only won his events but also set new national records in each of his five events. Nataraj set four national records, a media release said.
In the girls group 1 section Karnataka's Suvana C Baskar defeated her state-mate Khushi Dinesh to win the best swimmer title.
Although both Khushi and Suvana had four individual golds, Suvana had one new record which helped her clinch the title.
Vedika Amin, the best swimmer in the Girls Group III category last year, clinched the best swimmer title in the girls Group II category. Vedika won four golds, one silver and set two new national records.
Kiara Bangera won the best swimmer award in the Girls Group III category. She won four golds and one silver medal.
