You need to be fresh. Right now, I’ve become tired of gaunt faces and stick-thin models. I’m obsessed by boobs!," said Sabya. A couple of months back, Sabya went on to say something that became a nationwide controversy very soon. At the Harvard India Conference, he said, I think, if you tell me that you do not know how to wear a saree, I would say shame on you. It’s a part of your culture, (you) need to stand up for it.” After his remark, feminists especially had a lot to say to the designer. He received a lot of flak on social media and has now issued an apology for his remarks. To justify his point of view, he wrote an open letter on Instagram calling it an "unfortunate series of events".
