Himachal Pradesh, April 10: Following a tragic incident, where a private bus ferrying 40 school students skidded off the highway and plunged into a deep gorge in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district. According to an ANI report, Kangra Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar has issued an order stating that there will be no cultural programmes in the government functions for next 10 days. This is to show condolence to the victims of Kangra bus accident which claimed the lives of 29 people, most of whom were children.

The accident took place, while the bus was taking a sharp turn. It happened around 4:30 pm, when children, who were students of Wazir Ram Singh Memorial School, were being dropped back home. Reports claimed the driver of the bus, identified as Madan Lal, also died.
