Kolkata, November 7: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has distributed a total of 2.10 crore enumeration forms among voters of West Bengal in the first three days of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The poll body began the SIR exercise in the state on Tuesday, November 4, and a total of 2.10 crore enumeration forms were distributed till 8 PM on Thursday, November 6. In addition to the physical distribution of enumeration forms, the Election Commission also launched online voter enumeration forms for residents of West Bengal.
The online facility was launched for residents who were not available at their homes during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in West Bengal. The online voter enumeration forms were supposed to be available from Tuesday, November 4, but were unavailable when the SIR exercise began and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) started distributing forms door to door. Later, ECI confirmed that the delay was due to technical glitches, which have now been resolved. Online SIR Forms for Residents of West Bengal
Residents and voters of West Bengal can visit the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of West Bengal at ceowestbengal.wb.gov.in to fill out the enumeration forms online. Upon visiting the website, look for the QR code provided on the portal and scan it. Once scanned, the QR code will direct voters to SIR 2026 for West Bengal, as well as the 2002 roll. However, a search by us showed a message stating that the QR code has been deactivated. Voters can also access the enumeration forms via the ECINET mobile app.
How To Fill the Enumeration Form
To access the enumeration forms online, voters of West Bengal will need to use their Electors Photo Identification Card (EPIC) number. The first section of the online form will come with pre-printed information. Voters are advised to download the enumeration form and verify the details with their current voter ID card. After successfully verifying the details, voters can proceed to fill in the remaining sections of the form and add an e-signature on the form before submitting the same online.
What Details Are Pre-Printed on the Enumeration Form?
The pre-printed details on the enumeration form online for the SIR exercise in West Bengal consist of several details, such as the name and phone number of the Booth Level Officer (BLO) and voter details. The BLO is responsible for distributing the enumeration form. The BLO's name and number will be printed at the top in English, and voters can contact the BLO for any queries or assistance. In addition to this, the pre-printed details will also include the voter's name in Bengali, EPIC number, address, serial number, part number, assembly constituency, and state name. All this information is pre-printed for verification. The enumeration form will also feature a QR code and a picture of the voter from the existing voter ID card. Besides West Bengal, the Special Intensive Revision exercise will be conducted in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh. The enumeration process for the second phase of the SIR exercise began on November 4 and will cover over 51 crore voters across 12 regions. The enumeration process will end on December 4. The Election Commission said that the draft electoral list will be published on December 9, and the SIR exercise will be completed with the final voter list being published on February 7, 2026.
How To Book a Call With BLO?
Voters or residents of West Bengal can book a call with the Booth Level Officer (BLO) by clicking on the "Book a call with BLO" option provided on the Election Commission's portal. You will need to enter your EPIC number and the captcha code to book a call with the BLO. As per the electoral roll as on October 27, the total number of electors in West Bengal is 7,66,37,529. The poll body said that voters whose names or their parents' names were included in the electoral rolls in 2002, the last time the SIR was conducted in West Bengal, will have to include details in the enumeration forms and submit them. These voters will not have to submit any other supporting documents to retain their names in the electoral roll. On the other hand, voters whose names or their parents' names did not figure in the 2002 list will have to submit any one of the 11 documents specified by the Election Commission to retain their names in the voter list.
