German Cops are getting several calls from people complaining about loud noises, that they initially suspected either their neighbours are making while having sex or any animal was badly injured. However, it turns out that it is some horny Hedgehogs mating and making irritatingly loud noises that are keeping the them up all night. Many incidents have come into the police officials notice that describes a similar situation. One of the incidents reportedly came from a primary school in Augsburg, where suspicious sounds were coming from a playground. After hours of search, police could find a pair of passionate hedgehogs in the heat. Pythons Mating on Rooftop in Cairns Crash Through Ceiling Due to Their Weight.

Again, another incident was reported from Kamenz, where the local fire brigade used a hydraulic spreader to open a charity clothes collection bin to find the spiny animals mating, as reported by the Guardian. Hedgehog mating is called, “igelsex,” and they are popular to produce noises from purring to snarling, whistling and even screaming which many a time are misunderstood with humans. And this is what happened in this case. An unnamed Hedgehog expert from Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, explained in the same report, “Hedgehogs snarl loudly during the hours-long mating ritual, and the males make the most noise.”

The summer is usually the most preferred period for Hedgehogs mating, which usually runs between April and the beginning of September. To us, the coupling sounds just like humans. Experts advise officials to not disturb the creatures if they are found mating.
