Born on August 9th, 1992 B Sai Praneeth is one of the most successful badminton players produced by India. He came into limelight after defeating Muhammad Hafiz Hashim of Malaysia at the 2013 Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold tournament in the first round. Praneeth currently plays in Hyderabad and trains at the Gopichand Badminton Academy. He came into limelight at quite an early stage and was a promising player soon after he picked up the sport. - In 2010, Sai Praneeth had clinched a Bronze medal BWF World Junior Championships. He lost the semi-finals to Japanse player Kento Momota to win the accolade.
- Like every upcoming sportsperson, Praneeth picked up the sport at an early age and proved to be a promising talent. His coach Paulellu Gopichand had inducted him in the first batch of his coaching academy.
- In 2013, he even went on to stun Olympiad Taufik Hidayat and that too in the last match of the Indoniean's career. Praneeth won in the first round match of Djarum Indonesia Open. The Indian shuttler went on to win the game by 15-21, 21-12, 21-17.
- Praneeth became the first male shuttler after Prakash Padukone to win a Bronze medal at BWF World Championships in 2019.
- Sai Praneeth was honoured with prestigious Arjuna Award in 2019.
