Batting first, it was the Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran show with the duo stitching a 121-run partnership. Mitchell Marsh (117) and Aiden Markram (36) put up a good opening partnership and later, Nicholas Pooran blasted his way to 56 off 27 balls. LSG posted a massive 235/2 and it was always going to take some performance to chase this down. And to make matters worse, their top three--Shubman Gill (35), Sai Sudharsan (21) and Jos Buttler (33) departed inside the first 10 overs. A 86-run stand between Sherfane Rutherford (38) and Shahrukh Khan (57) did provide them with some hope but Will O'Rourke produced a magnificent over where he took two wickets to close out the chase.
