New Delhi, Jan 1 (PTI) Two alleged robbers have been arrested from southwest Delhi's Dwarka area, police said Tuesday.

The accused were identified as Rohit Pal (23) and and Anil (21), they said.

A complaint was lodged by a Mandeep Singh claiming that unidentified men snatched his bag, containing his mobile, wallet and some documents, while he was returning home at night on December 26, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse said.

On Monday, a burglary was reported from Dabri area. The robbers had fled with cash worth about Rs 3 lakh and some jewellery, he said.

During the investigation, police received a tip off about the accused and laid a trap to nab them. Pal was arrested from his residence and Anil was arrested later, the police said.

A mobile phone, cash worth Rs 29,000, some gold and silver jewellery were recovered from their possession, they said.

Robber arrested in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 1 (PTI) A 29-year-old man allegedly involved in several cases of snatching and theft has been arrested in Delhi, police said Tuesday.

The accused was identified as Prabhakar, a resident of Tughlakabad village, they said.

He was arrested on Monday from near Maa Anandmayee Marg at around 10 pm, a senior police officer said.

A country-made pistol, two live cartridges, a scooter and three mobile phones were recovered from his possession, he said.

Wanted gangster arrested from Greater Noida

New Delhi, Jan 1 (PTI) The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a wanted gangster from Greater Noida who allegedly used to extort money from property dealers, police said Tuesday.

The accused was identified as Harsimran, a resident of Shalimar Bagh. He was wanted in several cases of extortion and shooting, they said.

Following a tip off, his car was intercepted outside Panchsheel Greens society in Greater Noida West on Monday night and he was arrested, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajiv Ranjan said.

During interrogation, Harsimran admitted that he had masterminded shootings which took place in Shalimar Bagh area in October, the police said.

41 Delhi Police personnel promoted for exemplary work

New Delhi, Jan 1 (PTI) As many as 41 Delhi Police personnel have been promoted for exemplary work during discharge of their duties, police said Tuesday.

Three of them have been promoted from the post of sub-inspector to inspector, while one from assistant sub-inspector to sub-inspector. Sixteen head constables have been promoted to the rank of assistant sub-inspectors and 21 from constable to head constable, they said.
