Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], October 30 (ANI): Sixty nine candidates in the fray for bypoll to seven assembly seats in Rajasthan.
Giving details, Rajasthan Chief Election Officer Naveen Mahajan said the candidates include 10 women and 59 men. On Wednesday, which was the last day of withdrawal of nominations, 10 candidates withdrew their nomination papers.
Mahajan said that a total of 94 candidates had submitted their nomination papers till the last date of nomination on October 25.
He said 12 candidates each are contesting in Dausa and Khinvsar assembly constituencies. Six candidates are in the fray in Salumbar.
Voting for bypolls on seven assembly seats in Rajasthan will be held on November 13 and results will be declared on November 23.
Bypolls will be held in Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Deoli-Uniara, Khinwsar, Chorasi, Salumbar and Ramgarh Assembly seats.
Earlier on October 15, the Election Commission announced by-polls for 48 assembly constituencies and two parliamentary seats that will occur in two phases alongside the Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly elections. (ANI)
