Pune, July 21 (PTI) A 30-year-old security guard deployed outside a quarantine centre in the city was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly stalking a coronavirus positive woman who had been admitted at the facility, the police said.

The 27-year-old woman had been quarantined at the facility on the premises of an educational institute.

The woman alleged in a complaint lodged with Bharti Vidyapeeth Police station that on July 15, she requested the accused to see if another woman patient could stay with her at night as she was alone in her room.

The accused noted down her number. Late at night he allegedly called her, but the woman did not respond.

He then sent her messages and later knocked on the door of her room and asked her to open the door, the police official said.

A case was registered under section 354-D of IPC (stalking) and the guard has been arrested, he added.
