Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], August 15 (ANI): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday released a subsidy under 'Mukhya Mantri Dugdh Utpadak Protsahan Yojana'.

"As the time changed, in homes, the cow farming has reduced. Because of people like you, milk production is being established as employment in Haryana," CM Saini said addressing the event.

"It is not possible that Haryana's name does not come up when we talk about milk and curd. Due to good quality and high milk-yielding animals and the best efforts of the state government, Haryana is counted among the leading milk-producing states of the country. CM @NayabSainiBJP today distributed subsidy amount to milk producers and Antyodaya families under the "Chief Minister Milk Producer Incentive Scheme" at Sant Kabir Kutir (Chief Minister's residence)," the Haryana Chief Minister Office posted on X

"Also, CM made an announcement for milk-producing farmers and said that those who supply milk to homes in Haryana will be insured. Milk distributors will be covered under 'Pradhan Mantri Bima Yojana'," he added.

Earlier on Wednesday, on the occasion of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, the Haryana Chief Minister paid tribute to the victims of partition in Kurukshetra.

Haryana is one of the eight states that will be holding legislative assembly elections this year.

In these elections, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will jointly contest the upcoming Haryana elections.

In the 2019 Haryana Assembly polls, the BJP won 40 seats, the Congress won 31 seats, the JJP won 10 seats and the INLD won 1 seat.

The Haryana Assembly Elections 2024 are expected to take place on or before October 2024, as the current Assembly's tenure is set to end on November 3 this year. However, the election schedule is yet to be announced. (ANI)
