Agartala (Tripura) [India], August 14 (ANI): Chief Minister Manik Saha praised the prime minister, saying that the country has reached new heights today under his able leadership, emphasising that, following PM Modi's footsteps, the Tripura government is working towards improving all sectors.

"The country has achieved great heights today under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Tripura government is also striving to move the state forward in the direction guided by the Prime Minister. The government is working towards the overall development of Tripura by improving all sectors, including health, education, agriculture, and sports. This time, too, the Prime Minister has called for observing the Har Ghar Tiranga program with due dignity, which means honoring those who have sacrificed for the country," said Saha.

CM Saha said this at the official launch of the Tiranga Yatra organised at Umakanta Ground in Agartala on Tuesday morning, an initiative of the state government.

On the occasion, Saha emphasised that holding the Har Ghar Tiranga program is about awakening patriotic sentiments among the people.

"The country comes first, before anything else. Various programs have been organized with this goal in mind. Social organizations in the private sector are conducting various programs as well. As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga program, a tricolor walk was organized today, with participation from people of various professions, including government officials, and school and college students. Such programs are being held in various sub-divisions and districts throughout the state," said Saha.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that discussions have been held at various levels to ensure the success of the Har Ghar Tiranga program.

"We hoisted the national flag even before 2022. But Prime Minister Narendra Modi insisted that the national flag should be hoisted in every household. The Tripura government took appropriate measures to make this happen," he added.

"According to 2022 statistics, there are 8.5 lakh houses in Tripura. The government took the initiative to produce national flags of different sizes in proportion to this number. Responding to the government's call, the people of the state have come forward to make the Har Ghar Tiranga program a success. We have seen many Prime Ministers before, but I have never witnessed such passion from any Prime Minister before. This patriotic sentiment is only possible because of our Prime Minister. Additionally, we must take an oath to move the country and the state forward," he said.

During the program, Mayor and MLA of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, Social Worker Rajib Bhattacharya, and Secretary of ICA Department PK Chakraborty were present.

After the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister, along with other guests, participated in a colourful procession in the capital city, carrying the tricolour. (ANI)
