India News | Indian Army Flags off 10 Day 'National Integration Tour' for 9 Youth Ambassador from Manipur

Imphal (Manipur) [India] October 14 (ANI): In its continuous efforts to engage and inspire local youth, the Red Shield Division, under the aegis of the Spear Corps of the Indian Army flagged off a comprehensive 10-day "National Integration Tour" under Operation Sadbhavana from October 14 to October 23 for nine Youth Ambassadors from Manipur, as per an official press release.
The tour was flagged off on Monday by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Red Shield Division, in a ceremony held at Koirengei, Imphal East, Manipur. The tour will explore cities of Kolkata, Tawang, and Shillong as part of the itinerary. While experiencing the rich cultural heritage of these cities and their states, they will also visit Indian Army establishments.

As per the release, the Youth Ambassadors will visit the iconic Victoria Memorial, participate in a Heritage Walk at Fort William, and tour the Headquarters of Eastern Command of the Indian Army. The next phase of the tour will be in Tawang, where visits to Sela Pass, Sela Lake, Tawang Monastery, Madhuri Lake and other places of interest are planned. The group will also pay tribute at Bum La Pass and Tawang War Memorial to honour the soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice during the 1962 Indo-China War.
The last phase of the tour will be in Shillong, where the group will visit scenic places in the heart of Meghalaya, including Dawki Lake, Mawlynnong Village, Elephant Waterfall, the Seven Sisters Waterfall and other places of interest. The group will also have the privilege to interact with his excellency, Governer of Meghalaya. On 23 October, the National Integration Tour will culminate in Imphal.

This tour will provide the Youth Ambassadors with exposure to the vibrant culture of the Indian Army and, at the same time, showcase the rich heritage of our country. It will also help bridge cultural gaps and promote national unity, press release stated. (ANI)
