"My three-year-old son, my wife who is three months' pregnant and I have been assaulted physically by our immediate neighbours on Tuesday afternoon. They pushed my wife and beat me with shoes. Our neighbours are opposing our stay at our home though we are staying strictly inside our flat and have not violated any quarantine protocol," the man said.

Neighbours have, however, rubbished the allegations and have accused the man and his family members of violating the home isolation protocol related to COVID-19.

"The man and his family members are not confining themselves inside their flat and are instead roaming around in the apartment building. This is very risky for other residents of the apartment. We have not beaten up anybody... they are lying," one of the neighbours said.

The man had been tested last week and the result is awaited. Tests were conducted on his wife and son as well and both had tested negative.
