Bhadradri Kothagudem (Telangana) [India], July 26 (ANI): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a Sub-Inspector of Police (SI) from Palvoncha Town Police Station in Bhadradri Kothagudem district for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.
The accused has been identified as Banala Ramu, who was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe from an advocate, Kadapakonda Laxma Reddy.

The bribe was allegedly demanded in exchange for filing a charge sheet against accused persons in a criminal case lodged by the advocate's client, Seeram Sravani, stated the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The ACB recovered the bribe amount hidden in the wash area of the SI's house. The left-hand fingers and the contact portion between the house wall and the wastewater pipe in the accused police's house wash area also yielded a positive result in the chemical test.
The officer was subsequently arrested and produced before the III Additional Sessions Judge for SPE & ACB Cases in Warangal.
Further investigations into the matter are now underway. (ANI)
