Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], March 8 (ANI): The Odisha government has increased the allowances of personnel working in the Fire Services department.According to a notification issued by the Home Department, the incentives and allowances in favour of Fire Service personnel in the rank of Fireman, Fireman Driver, Leading Fireman, Driver havildar and havildar mechanic have been revised.The hike in pay and allowances from the government came a day before the workers of the Fire Service Department were going on a statewide indefinite strike from Friday.The State Government has decided to give one-month extra pay to the Fire Staff. It has also announced several other allowances for them.The one-month extra pay has been renamed as extra duty incentive and has been revised as one month's basic pay including the grade pay. While bicycle allowance provided to fire staff has been renamed as mobility allowance and the same has been enhanced from Rs 75 per month to Rs 150 per month.Apart from that State government also enhanced the special diet allowance from Rs 700 to Rs 900 per month (ANI)
