Many users took to their social media handles to label Akshay a 'hypocrite' for appearing in the ad, despite his earlier promise made in 2022 not to endorse the brand any further. Now, Akshay has shared a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) to clarify that the ad, which was played during the ICC World Cup match between India and Australia on October 8, is not recent. He asked his fans to chill and explained that it was shot on October 13, 2021, and he is no longer associated with the brand.
