New Delhi, Jan 17 (PTI) Days after a man was attacked and robbed of Rs 5 lakh by four motorcycle-borne men in north Delhi's Roop Nagar, the police have recovered CCTV footage in which the victim could be seen kicked by the accused on a busy road while bystanders kept moving.

The footage showed the four men with helmets riding motorcycles and following the victim, who was also on a motorbike. They intercepted him and started kicking him. They also shot the man in his right leg.

The accused were also captured snatching the bag containing Rs 5 lakh from the victim, police said.

Sensing something suspicious, a car driver, who stopped near the site of the incident, was threatened by the accused. The accused later fled the spot in their motorcycles, leaving the victim on the road.

According to police, the incident took place Saturday evening when Hunny Kumar Kalra (42) was returning to office after collecting payment from a customer. Kalra works at a plastic granules trader shop in Kirti Nagar, they said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sagar Singh Kalsi had said that a call about the incident was received around 6 pm on Saturday. Upon reaching the spot, the police team found Kalra, a resident of Vijay Nagar, in an injured state and he was rushed to a nearby hospital, he said.

A case has been registered and efforts are on to trace the suspects, Kalra added.
