Imphal (Manipur) [India], October 21 (ANI): Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Saturday attended the Swearing-in-Ceremony of State Chief Information Commissioner, K Radhashyam and expressed confidence in his ability to strengthen the Manipur Information Commission.

"Attended the Swearing-in-Ceremony of State Chief Information Commissioner of Manipur, K Radhashyam at Raj Bhavan, Imphal. I am confident that K Radhashyam will further strengthen the Manipur Information Commission under his leadership and serve the public with greater efficacy and commitment," the Chief Minister posted on X.

Earlier last month, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced the restoration of mobile internet services for the general public from today, months after the internet shutdown was imposed due to the ethnic violence in the state.

Addressing a press conference in the state capital, Singh said, "From today onwards, internet services will be opened for the public in Manipur".

Earlier, in July, the Manipur government announced the conditional restoration of broadband services in the state. Mobile internet services, however, remained suspended in view of the violence the state was undergoing. (ANI)
