Mumbai, Aug 16 (PTI) Men's top seed and India No 3 Mahesh Mangaonkar of Maharashtra outplayed unseeded Anurag Iyengar to advance to round two of the 44th Maharashtra State Senior Open Squash Tournament here on Friday.
Anurag showed promise but failed to put up a fight against Mangaonkar who made short work of the Karnataka player by securing an 11-4, 11-3, 11-4 straight-game men's first round victory at the Bombay Gymkhana.
Third seed Abhishek Agarwal remained unchallenged as he breezed past an unseeded Pratinav Deb 11-3, 11-4, 11-4 in another men's first round encounter.
In the Western Slam (Junior) boys' U-19 clash, unseeded Neel Joshi of Maharashtra shocked 5/8 seed Avinash Yadav in three games to enter round two.
