CSIR UGC NET 2018: December Information Bulletin Released Online; Check Exam Schedule at csirhrdg.res.in

The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has released the Information Bulletin on their official website; csirhrdg.res.in. According to the schedule, CSIR will conduct the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) on December 16, 2018. Candidates who are interested in Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lectureship will appear in the entrance exam. The applications for the December exam will begin from September 25 till October 15. CSIR UGC NET will be organised in two sessions. Life Sciences and Physical Sciences will be conducted in the morning, and Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Earth Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences will be held in the afternoon. NEET, UGC NET, JEE Main, CMAT and GPAT: NTA Releases Exam Schedule & Result Dates for 2018-19. 

While filling the CSIR UGC NET application form, the candidates under general category will have to pay Rs. 1,000 and for the reserved categories, it is Rs. 250. Students who have enrolled for M.Sc. or have completed graduation are eligible to apply under the Result Awaited (RA) category. The examination will be a single paper multiple-choice based question. CSIR awards JRF to candidates holding BS-4 years program/ BE/B.Tech/B. Pharma/MBBS/ Integrated BS-MS/M.Sc. or Equivalent degree/B.Sc (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in the integrated MS-Ph.D program with at least 55% marks for General & OBC (50% for SC/ST candidates and Persons with Disability) after qualifying the CSIR UGC NET.

CSIR UGC NET is held every year for awarding JRF and determining the eligibility for lecturers. The first session exam was conducted on June 17 this year in an offline mode. The award of JRF to the successful candidates will depend on their finding admission/placement in a university or national laboratory or institution of higher learning and research. On the other hand, in the case of Lectureship, CSIR UGC NET is only an eligibility criterion, and a candidate must qualify the exam to be appointed as a Lecturer.
