Patna, May 6: In an extraordinary event that can be described as the rarest of the rare, a woman in the Kishanganj District of Bihar gave birth to quintuplets on May 4. On Saturday night, the private nursing home on the Bihar-Bengal border witnessed the miraculous birth of five baby girls, all delivered normally.

According to the ABP News, the mother, 20-year-old Tahira Begum of Thakurganj Kanakpur, and her newborns are reported to be in good health, under vigilant medical supervision. The village has erupted in joyous celebration for the arrival of these five new lives. Tahira, who already has a three-year-old son, was initially informed during her pregnancy that she would expect quadruplets. In another incident, a woman in Jharkhand gave birth to five children at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi in May last year. All five babies and the mother are said to be in healthy condition. The babies are underweight and were kept in the Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for observation. After the successful delivery, RIMS Ranchi shared the happy news and posted a photo of the newborns on its Twitter handle. Notably, it is the first time in the hospital's history that quintuplets have been delivered.
