Udaipur, December 18: An indigo aircraft was removed from a runway on Wednesday after smoke was detected in Udaipur-Bengaluru flight before take-off from Maharana Pratap Airport in Udaipur. According to reports, minutes before the take-off smoke was seen emerging out of the cabin area. All passengers are reportedly safe. The Indigo flight 6E 979, an Airbus A320neo, was delayed for two hours due to the incident. After Air Traffic Controller detected the smoke from the cabin area, both the engines of the aircraft were shut.

Last week also Indigo’s two A320neo aircraft were grounded after they were forced to land following mid-air engine vibrations. Last month, Federal Aviation Administration of the United States told airline operators using A320neo to modify a critical component of the aircraft's low-pressure turbine. After which Directorate General of Civil Aviation asked Indigo to modify the critical third stage of the low-pressure turbine. Meanwhile, IndiGo claimed that it had implemented 100 per cent 'alt climb' on all Neo aircraft.
