ITBP Carries Pregnant Woman 5 km on Foot
The operation began after security forces received an emergency alert regarding the woman’s critical health condition. Under the direction of the 29th Battalion Commandant, Assistant Commandant Anil Kumar led a Quick Response Team (QRT) to the inaccessible village. Because the area lacks motorable roads, the ITBP personnel constructed a makeshift stretcher on-site. The team then carried the woman on foot across a five-kilometre stretch characterized by steep climbs and natural obstacles to reach a point where medical transport could take over.

ITBP Rescue
The Indravati National Park area in Narayanpur is considered one of the most challenging zones for both civilians and security forces. The "highly sensitive and inaccessible" nature of the park often leaves local residents without immediate access to healthcare, particularly during medical emergencies. Officials noted that the success of the mission relied on the "excellent coordination, quick decision-making, and human sensitivity" shown by the ITBP and the Narayanpur Police. The incident has been highlighted by local authorities as an example of the humanitarian role security forces play in India’s most remote border and internal regions.
