England national cricket team all-rounder Chris Woakes announced his international retirement on September 29. Woakes was part of England's two-time ICC white-ball titles triumphs - the 2019 ODI World Cup and the 2022 T20 World Cup. The 36-year-old represented England in 217 matches across formats. Before Woakes, India national cricket team leg-spinner Amit Mishra announced his retirement from professional cricket. Mishra represented India in 22 Tests, 36 ODIs and 10 T20Is - picking 76, 64, and 16 scalps respectively. Amit Mishra made his international debut in 2003 in an ODI tri-series in Bangladesh. Australian speedster Mitchell Starc announced his retirement as he stepped away from T20Is.
Earlier, Glenn Maxwell had retired from ODIs. Meanwhile, South Africa's Heinrich Klaasen retired from international cricket. Pakistan's Asif Ali has also bid adieu to all formats.
