The third Test match held at the Sydney Cricket Ground started off at a bizarre note for Australia’s Steve Smith. The Australian batsman took 39 balls to get off the mark for a single. He took 46 minutes to score his first run in the first innings as they win the toss and after opting to bat first. No sooner the Australian scored his first run, the SCG went on to cheer the batsman. This probably the first time that Steve Smith took such a long time to get off the mark. Australia Vs New Zealand, Cricket Score 3rd Test Match.
No sooner the crowd at the SCG cheered for Smith, he acknowledged the same by raising his hand up in the air. This brought a smile on the face of Neil Wagner. However, after taking so long to get off the mark, Steve Smith made 63 runs from 182 balls scoring four fours and no maximums. The video of the incident went viral on social media. Talking about the game, David Warner made 45 runs. However, Joe Burns could not stay on the field for a long time as he made 18 runs and then departed to the pavilion. Marnus Labuschange was the one impressed the fans once again by scoring 130 runs with Steve Smith making 63 runs. Labuschange is still batting alongside Matthew Wade (22). As of now, the team stands on a total of 283 runs for the loss of three wickets.
