Guwahati (Assam) [India], October 12 (ANI): The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam police apprehended two drug peddlers and seized drugs from their possession in the Khanapara area in Guwahati.

The apprehended drug peddlers were identified as Gopal Hazarika (28 years old) and Padumi Kathar (50 years old).

Partha Sarathi Mahanta, DIG (STF) told ANI that, based on secret information, a team of STF on Wednesday evening launched an operation near Khanapara Overbridge in Guwahati under Basistha police station and apprehended two drug peddlers.

"The STF team recovered and seized 35 numbers of plastic containers containing suspected heroin weighing 46 grams, one mobile phone, cash of Rs 11,000, and one Hero Super Splendor bearing registration number AS-23Z-6722 recovered in possession from them. Necessary formalities are being done. FIR is being lodged at Basistha police station," Partha Sarathi Mahanta said. (ANI)
