Washington DC, [USA] July 23 (ANI): Indian fantasy film 'Tumbad' has been selected for a screening at the upcoming Venice International Film Festival in its Critics' Week section.
Directed by Rahi Anil Barve Tumbad is a fantasy thriller and revolves around a desolate and forgotten village. The story is structured on the basis of greed.
According to Variety, few of the film lined up for the competition include director Hajooj Kuka's 'A Kasha' (The Roundup), a comedy of errors aptly set during Sudan's civil war.
Next in line is German director Andreas Goldstein's 'Adam & Evelyn' an interesting story set in the aftermath of Berlin Wall teardown, and Franco-Swiss directorial duo Alexia Walther and Maxime Matray's 'Blonde Animals', which is a surreal comedy to name a few.
The Venice critics' week entries will compete alongside the official selection for the fest's coveted 'Lion of the Future prize' which is worth $100,000.
The full official-selection of the 75th Venice Film Festival will be announced by this week.
The fest is set to run from August 29 to September 8. (ANI)
