Ghaziabad, Aug 19 (PTI) A man from Bihar's Saharsa district was arrested for allegedly killing a four-year-old boy here for resisting his bid to sodomise him, police said today.

The accused, Rajendra Shah, was arrested yesterday, nearly 20 months after he fled to his hometown post the incident, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rakesh Mishra said.

The skeleton of the boy, Mohammad Zaid, a resident of Sahibabad, was found from a wooden box lying on the terrace of a house in the Garima Garden area of Sahibabad on June 3, months after he went missing.

The DSP said following the recovery of the skeleton, the police had formed teams and sent them to the accused's hometown in Bihar.

The boy went missing from his house on December 1, 2016, Mishra said.

A few days later, his father received a ransom call for Rs 8 lakh.

Even though two persons were arrested for their alleged involvement in making the call, the boy could not be traced, the DSP said.

The accused was brought here today from Bihar and during interrogation, he confessed to his crime, Mishra said.

"I was drunk at the time of the incident and I tried to sodomise him, but when Zaid raised an alarm, I throttled him, due which he died. Later, I dumped his body in the wooden box," he told the police. PTI CORR SNE RC

Ghaziabad 19 August (PTI) Sahibabad police has arrested the killer of 4 year old child from Saharsa district Bihar he was absconding since 1st December 2016. Police said. Deputy Superintendent of police Rakesh Mishra told that on 1st December 2106 a four years old boy Mohammad Zaid went missing from his house.  On 12th December his father Nazar Mohammad received a call for ransom of 8 lakh rupees. Police had arrested two kidnappers on 17th December, but could not trace the boy.  On 3rd June skeleton of zaid was recovered in the noon hours from a wooden box which was lying in waste on the terrace of an adjacent house of Garima garden Sahibabad. Some children of the same lane saw the body when they went upstairs to find their cricket ball.  Father of zaid had identified the skeleton by his cloths. After the recovery of skeleton of Zaid, Sahibabad police again reopened the case and started probe, to nab the killer. During investigation police noticed that the tenant of Nazar had vacated his room just after 15 days of the missing incident.  Police traced the call details of that mobile phone from which ransom of 8 lakh rupees was demanded.  Ultimately police arrested a man from Saharsa Bihar and brought him here today.  He has been identified as Rajendra shah.  He confessed to murdering zaid.  “I was drunk at the time of incident and I tried to sodomize him, when zaid raised alarm I throttled him due which he died and I concealed the body in a wooden box which was lying in waste on the adjoin terrace” shah accepted.
