Kathmandu [Nepal], Feb 12 (ANI): Nepal government on Tuesday banned the de-facto Maoist group Netra Bikram Chand-led Nepal Communist Party because of their "crime-oriented" approach. “Cabinet meeting this evening made the decision to put a ban on the Nepal Communist Party and all its activities. The activities of the group are more crime-oriented and we had the decision to put a ban on it,” a sitting minister from the Cabinet informed ANI on Tuesday, requesting anonymity.The government has invited the group for a meeting.The banned party, which was elected to power under the leadership of, is blamed of extortion, vandalising public and private properties and bomb explosions around the country.The party also had taken the responsibility of the bomb blast in Lalitpur, which killed one and injured two.The Nepal Communist Party was formed after the then Maoist Party broke-off into groups.
