New Delhi, Sep 17 (PTI) Women are actively supporting the Sangh in various activities and a parallel organisation was established to involve them in works for the welfare of society, RSS chief Mohan Bhawat said Monday.

Addressing a gathering here at the Vigyan Bhawan on the first day of his three-day lecture series, Bhagwat said the Sangh was not only of "sanyasis".

There are Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh workers who are married and their wives and mothers actively support Sangh activities, Bhagwat said.

Women also actively contribute to the Sangh's work and there is a parallel organisation for females, Rashtriya Sevika Samiti, which works on the lines of the Sangh's ideology for the welfare of society, he said.

Bhagwat also said the Sangh is funded only by the donation given by its workers. Not a single penny is taken from outside and if someone gives, the organisation returns it, he added.
