New Delhi, October 26: The air quality in the National Capital continues to get worse. According to an ANI report, Punjabi Bagh recorded the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 429, which falls under the 'Hazardous' category. The AQI at RK Puram was at 290, and Pusa at 283, which falls under the bracket of 'Unhealthy' category. Delhi Air Quality Index: Pollution Worsens in NCR, Anand Vihar at 999 Under ā€˜Hazardous’ Category.

It must be noted that the AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ā€˜good’, 51 and 100 ā€˜satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ā€˜moderate’, 201 and 300 ā€˜poor’, 301 and 400 ā€˜very poor’, and 401 and 500 ā€˜severe’.

On Monday, the air quality in Delhi had shown signs of improvement after it moved from ā€˜very poor’ to ā€˜poor’ category. However, experts believe that it could deteriorate in the coming days due to toxic air coming out of a fire at Bhalswa landfill site.

Like every year, the situation has worsened after Dusshera. Last week, a haze had engulfed the national capital and the worst air quality of this season was recorded at 324. However, on Sunday, the AQI had oscillated between ā€˜poor’ and ā€˜very poor’ categories.
