New Delhi, January 14: A Pakistan official was detained yesterday after an altercation with a girl in New Delhi. The girl lodged a complaint after which the Delhi Police detained the Pakistan official. At the police station, he apologised to the girl after which he was let off. As per the Indian government, no arrest had been made in connection with the case. Meanwhile, according to some reports, the official was detained for allegedly molesting a girl. However, the Pakistan media claimed that the Indian police arrested the official. As per reports, Pakistan officials also lodged a strong protest and alleged India of violating a Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations. Pakistan also warned India of retaliatory action. Some Pakistan media reports also claimed that the diplomat was forced to sign some papers.
Last month, reports surfaced that Many Indian diplomats in Pakistan facing were harassment. According to reports, new gas connections had not been issued, and internet services of some senior officials also blocked. Even guests visiting diplomats were harassed. An incident of an intruder entering an Indian official's house in Islamabad on December 10 was also reported. Taking note of the incident, India had taken up this matter with Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
