Vadodra, October 15: In a distressing case from Vadodara, a 28-year-old woman endured severe physical and mental abuse at the hands of her husband after she repeatedly refused his demands for sex. The woman, whose identity has been kept confidential for her safety, suffered for an extended period of time. Her plight came to light when she sought help from the Gujarat government’s women's helpline, Abhayam, which swiftly intervened to provide the necessary support and assistance.

According to a report by the Times of India, Her husband confined her to a room, effectively isolating her from their infant daughter. Officials from the Abhayam helpline reported that the couple had been married for five years, but their relationship quickly soured just a few months into the marriage. Due to the escalating tensions and abuse, she made the difficult decision to return to her parents' home last year. Vadodara Shocker: Teenage Girl Gang-Raped in Gujarat in Presence of Male Friend, Probe Underway.
